On March 5, 1952, Ed & Bernice Brown purchased the Barton Store on the corner of Samoset Road and Route 6 in Eastham. The property included a general store, the Windmill Spa and Cabins, and the Eastham Post Office.
The Browns re-named it the Eastham Superette, but the community knew it as "Brown's." It became a meeting place where folks gathered waiting for the afternoon paper and mail delivery. Through hurricanes and winter storms, it has never closed a single day.
Today, it remains family owned and operated β carrying on the tradition of serving Cape Cod families and visitors with quality groceries, deli, and warm hospitality.
